Delete your account
Israel National Trail app for Android and iOS, published by Lior Boyango
This page explains how to delete the account you created in the Israel National Trail app (in Hebrew: “בשביל ישראל”) together with the data stored with it. You can do it yourself in the app in under a minute, or ask us to do it if you no longer have the app. Deletion is free and cannot be undone.
Option 1: In the app
- Open the navigation menu.
- Tap Sign Out.
- Tick Delete all my data and confirm.
Your data is deleted right away. Signing out without ticking the box keeps your data so it is there when you sign in again.
Option 2: Ask us, without the app
If you have uninstalled the app or can no longer sign in, send us a deletion request by email from the address you signed in with: the email of your Google account, or the email or private relay address of your Apple ID.
Or write to intshvilisrael@gmail.com and tell us whether you signed in with Google or Apple, your display name in the app, and whether you also want your community contributions removed. If the request does not come from the sign-in address, we may ask you to confirm that the account is yours. We complete requests within 30 days and confirm by email.
What is deleted
Both options delete:
- your profile (name, email, profile picture, device details) and your sign-in account;
- the list of trail segments you marked as done;
- your booking requests and booking messages;
- your personal points;
- your Trail Angel profile, if you registered as an Angel;
- your push notification tokens;
- any reports and bug reports you sent.
What is kept unless you ask
Contributions you made to the community (chat messages, difficulty ranks, votes, Trail Angel feedback, and campsites or water points you shared) are not removed automatically, because other hikers rely on them. Say so in your request and we will remove them as well.
Analytics and crash reports, if you allowed them on the welcome screen, are pseudonymous and are not linked to your account. Firebase keeps them according to its retention settings.
Data kept on your device, such as the offline map, your preferences and booking defaults, is removed when you uninstall the app.
More about what the app stores and how it is used is in the Privacy Policy.
